It’d be hard to imagine a better ending to the 52nd Annual National  Right to Life Convention than a hour with Seth Dillon, the CEO of the hysterical funny Babylon Bee.

For those few who don’t know, the Babylon Bee traffics in the truth, which drives the pro-abortion crowd crazy. The Bee is a satirical site which makes the zealots (of which there are many) ever more angry.

“Harmful disinformation” they shout, and insist that their voice be silenced.  In fact, Twitter did shut the Bee for a long time—with no prospect of getting out of Twitter “purgatory.” But it was one of the first account unsuspended when Elon Musk purchased Twitter.

In his talk to the NRL convention, Dillon asked what if the pro-abortion lies were factchecked? What if, for example, “Abortion is healthcare” was factchecked? It’s “nonsense,” he said. “Words have meaning. You can’t magically transform evil into good by attaching nice words to it that have no application whatsoever.”

Pro-abortionists hate him even though—or perhaps precisely because—their statements are so outlandish that it raises the question “How can you parody a parody?”

What’s at stake, he concluded, was the very idea of truth. “Censorship protects the narrative, not the truth.” It is literally “A war on truth.”

Dillon quoted G. K. Chesterton to illustrate what we are up against:

We shall soon be in a world in which a man may be howled down for saying that two and two make four, in which people will persecute the heresy of calling a triangle a three-sided figure, and hang a man for maddening a mob with the news that grass is green.
