Fact Checker Says Kamala Harris ‘Did NOT Suggest’ What She Clearly Suggested

by | Jul 20, 2023

By Tim Graham

Vice President Kamala Harris committed another gaffe on Friday. But LeadStories.com — an important “independent fact-checker” that Facebook uses to crush “misinformation” openly claimed that Harris “Did NOT Suggest” what she obviously suggested in a speech at Coppin State University in Baltimore. The headline:

Fact Check: Kamala Harris Did NOT Suggest That ‘Reducing Population’ Is Climate Change Movement’s Goal On July 14, 2023 — She Meant ‘Reduce Pollution’

This is a little like writing “Fact Check: Dan Quayle Did NOT Suggest Spelling Potato with an E” when he obviously did. What this means is that when someone shares Kamala’s latest gaffe on social media, it’s likely to be flagged as false or “missing context”….when it’s what she clearly said.

The official White House transcript put a line through “population” and added “[pollution]” in brackets. But as Dana Perino noticed on The Five, Harris did not correct herself in real time. Why isn’t she the first Fact Checker?

Lead Stories “fact checker” Uliana Malashenko worked aggressively on the Biden White House spin:

The word “population” never appears in the transcript again, and the points made just before the quote in question make it clear that the core objective of the speech was not to link the climate change movement with the purportedly plotted population reduction but to discuss economic measures aimed at decreasing greenhouse emissions, not population….

This mistake is the only time when the phrase “reduce population” ever appeared on the Biden White House website, as of this writing.

As Raymond Arroyo said on The Ingraham Angle, “She is a disaster, even among friendly crowds.” But she can count on the “independent fact-checkers” to clean up behind her.
