Pro-abortion governor wants to wipe out Real Alternatives, the program that many pregnant women in vulnerable circumstances depend on

It is a carefully-crafted safety net which has served Pennsylvania women for decades.

Now, the Governor has announced a plan that would unravel that safety net, leaving thousands of pregnant women without the vital services they need.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro wants to pull the plug on Real Alternatives, which runs Pennsylvania’s award-winning Pregnancy and Parenting Support Services program. The program, which has become a model for the rest of the nation, funds pregnancy resource centers, maternity homes, and adoption agencies throughout the state.

Without this critical program, pregnant women in Pennsylvania will be abandoned. In essence, the Governor’s plan could wipe out the hopes and dreams of women who depend on the program for comprehensive counseling and support.

The program is essentially a one-stop shop for pregnant women in vulnerable circumstances. In addition to the priceless emotional support, women can access everything from housing to baby formula to parenting classes.

Without the assistance provided by the Real Alternatives program, many pregnant women may feel as if they have no choice. This is tragic and makes one question whether the Governor’s stance is “pro-choice” or “pro-abortion.”

Still, we need to let our state representatives and state senators know that we support pregnant women and want Real Alternatives’ contract renewed. To send an immediate message to PA lawmakers, click here.
