New York Special Election Could Bring Pro-Abortion Democrats One Seat Closer to Retaking U.S. House Majority

The pro-life majority in the U.S. House hangs by a thread. Pro-abortion Democrats are within just a few seats from reclaiming the chamber.

The 2024 elections are ten months away. A lot can happen in ten months. If Democrats were able to retake the House, they would once again hold the House, Senate, and Presidency, a trifecta of power that would be extremely dangerous for unborn children and their mothers.

The Biden-Harris Administration and pro-abortion Democrats in Congress support a nationwide policy allowing unlimited abortion for any reason until birth, and they want to force YOU, the taxpayer, to fund it. They want to pass the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) to enshrine unlimited abortion in federal law and tear down existing protections on the state level like parental involvement laws.

We cannot let that happen.

On Tuesday, February 13th, voters in New York’s 3rd Congressional District will participate in special election to fill the vacancy left by former Rep. George Santos (R).

Democrats have nominated pro-abortion former Congressman Tom Suozzi (D). Suozzi previously held the seat for three terms during which time he earned a 0% pro-life rating from National Right to Life. If Suozzi were to be re-elected, he would (again) be a reliable vote for abortion advocacy groups and their radical agenda.

According to political observers like the Cook Political Report, this race is a total tossup. A new Sienna Research Poll of likely voters in the district found Suozzi leading his Republican opponent Mazi Pilip 48%-44%. But among those same voters, the poll found support for Donald Trump outpacing Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential race- by five points!

The National Right to Life Victory Fund is working to mobilize pro-life voters in the New York special election and stop pro-abortion Democrats from getting one seat closer to retaking the House. Our opponents are eager to use a victory in this race as evidence that pro-life voters have given up the fight for life since the Dobbs decision.

But unborn children continue to be threatened by abortion. Women continue to face unexpected pregnancies and a lack of support. Families continue to face economic hardships that make it difficult to choose life. Our work is as important as ever!

We must continue to stand for life. We must oppose pro-abortion Democrats like Tom Suozzi who promise more abortion and more death.

Early voting continues through February 11th. Election Day, the last day to vote, is this coming Tuesday, February 13th. For more information on voting, visit: New York State Board of Elections.
