Pro-abortion Vice President Harris continues herĀ “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” in Savannah, Georgia

Pro-abortion Vice President Kamala Harris continued her “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour with a third stop in Savannah, Georgia. We wouldn’t expect anything new: more ā€œaccess,ā€ more ā€œsupport, and fewer [make that no] limitations on abortion. There were no surprises.

She spoke for less than an half-hour at the Savannah Civic Center where, in prepared remarks, Harris said, “In America, freedom is not to be given, not to be bestowed, but it is ours by right,” adding  “And that includes the freedom to make decisions about one’s own body, and not have the government telling people what to do.”

We could make the absolutely fundamental point—there are two parties involved—and that by exercising that ā€œfreedom,ā€ an innocent unborn baby is executed. But that would fall on deaf ears.

She told the crowd ā€œ19 months ago, the highest court in our land — the court of Thurgood [Marshall] and RBG [Ruth Bader Ginsburg] — took a constitutional right that had been recognized from the people of America, from the women of America.Ā  And now, we must speak ofĀ RoeĀ in the past tense.ā€

According to the official White House transcript, that prompted a cascade of boos.

That was just a warmup. Harris rolled out the usual usuals, all of which were variations on a theme: Biden good, Trump bad. And if the audience wanted ā€œprogressā€ made, they should be sure that Trump is not returned to the White House.

Biden carried Georgia by less than 13,000 votes out of 5,000,000 votes cast.

Harris concluded with

Do we trust women?  (Applause.)

Do we believe in reproductive freedom?  (Applause.)

Do we believe in the promise of America?  (Applause.)

And are we ready to fight for it?  (Applause.)

And when we fight, we win!

Every step of the way on this ā€œFight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour makes clear that we need to fight for the real ā€œpromise of Americaā€: equal justice under law for the littlest American.
