What do pro-lifers shared in common? A zest for life

by | Apr 15, 2024

By Maria V. Gallagher, Acting Executive Director, Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation

I received yet another reminder this past weekend of the fact that the pro-life movement is a force for true good in the world.

A central Pennsylvania church invited our Education Director, Remil Teny, and me to a Saturday missions fair. Organizations with various missions had an opportunity to present their accomplishments to church members of all ages. Those attending the inspiring event received mock passports which they had stamped at each mission table.

As I stamped passports, I spoke with a variety of people—seasoned pro-life advocates…boys and girls fascinated with our soft-touch fetal models…college students wondering about the after-effects of the Dobbs Supreme Court decision.

What these individuals shared in common was a zest for life. In case after case, people thanked us for the work we do to advocate for pregnant women and their babies. They were heartened to hear of our achievements in reaching youth and young adults with our life-affirming message. And they encouraged us to keep up the good work.

Our outreach is our strength. People are hungering to hear about the development of the preborn child…the help available to pregnant women in difficult circumstances…and the hope for the next generation of pro-life leaders.

This summer chapters of National Right to Life affiliates across the country will be present at fairs and festivals, spreading a message of love and compassion. Be sure to stop by these tables and greet these good-hearted ambassadors for life. They are providing light in the darkness that can surround us in an abortion-saturated world.
