As our last post of the week, let’s take a look at the presidential race. Pro-life former President Donald Trump leads pro-abortion President Joe Biden by anywhere from I point to 4 points.
“When independent candidates were thrown into the mix, support for Trump dropped to 44 percent and 40 percent for Biden,” Sarah Polus reported for The Hill. “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received 8 percent of support, another 8 percent reported being undecided, and 1 percent supported Cornel West.”
President Biden’s approval numbers on issues remains abysmal, according to Real Clear Politics. His average approval on all issues is 39%, his average disapproval is 52%.
To take three specific issues….
On the economy Biden’s approval is 39% but 58% disapprove.
On Inflation, 35% approve, 64% disapprove.
And on Immigration, 32% approve, 63% disapprove.
CBS News conducted a survey of young people (18-29) and the results were fascinating. In February, Biden’s job approval among young people was 55%. This week only 43% approved.
One other classification I had never seen before. It was from Emerson College.
Analysis of voter work hours reveals distinct candidate preferences. Non-workers are evenly split: 45% support Trump, 44% Biden. Those working 30 hours or less favor Biden over Trump (52% to 37%), while those in the 30-40 hour bracket are divided (45% Biden, 43% Trump). Trump gains support among those working 40-60 hours, with increasing margins as hours increase, peaking at 80% for those working over 60 hours, compared to 7% for Biden.
