Former House Speaker pro-abortion Nancy Pelosi lays out the case for why Democrats should eliminate the filibuster

It’s always an adventure watching former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi being interviewed. She has a short fuse and will attack even the most partisan of MSNBC hosts if they dare deviate from giving the answer Rep. Pelosi demands.

Take Katy Tur of MSNBC. Let me quote Pelosi’s most telling remarks in an interview on Katy Tur Reports:

“Joe Biden … created nine million jobs in his term in office. Donald Trump has the worst record of job loss of any president,” the former Speaker of the House said, slamming Trump’s job creation numbers compared to President Joe Biden’s. “So, we just have to make sure people know.”

“That was a global pandemic,” Tur ever-so-gently interjected.

“He had the worst record of any president,” Pelosi snapped back. “We’ve had other concerns in our country. If you want to be an apologist for Donald Trump, that may be your role, but it ain’t mine.”

In a barely audible voice, Tur said, “I don’t think that anybody can accuse me of that.”

Pelosi also insisted “abortion is a freedom Issue”–“This is about freedom to make your own decisions for a woman. It’s a personal decision, it’s an economic decision at the kitchen table of America’s families, if and when they could expand their families or even start their families.”

Warming up, Pelosi spoke in glowing terms of fellow pro-abortionist and Democrat President Joe Biden” — of his “vision for America.” And because “of his experience—his age [kind of a smile]—he knows the issues so well.”

Tur then asked Pelosi, “If President Biden gets reelected and there’s a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate, what can President Biden do to protect abortion nationwide?”

“We can enshrine into the law Roe v. Wade,” Pelosi quickly responded.

Tur said, “That would take two-thirds in the Senate.”

Pelosi had an answer for that: “No, it doesn’t. It’s 60 votes in the Senate now but if we win 50-plus-1 in the Senate, 50 plus the vice president, we can overturn the 60-vote rule.”

Tur said, “The filibuster.”

All but rubbing her hands together in delight, Pelosi confirmed: “The filibuster and pass it with a 51-vote margin. That’s what we need to do.”

If Democrats wield power after the November elections, you can be sure that eliminating the filibuster will be only the first of many anti-life agenda items.
