In fact, just days ago, our 24/7 call center, OptionLine, received a call from a young woman named Keyla. She was facing an unplanned pregnancy and felt overwhelmed by her circumstances.
After a conversation, Heartbeat’s Option Line consultant transferred her to a local Heartbeat-affiliated Pregnancy Help Center, where she could explore her options and receive support, including an ultrasound. All of the services would be free to Keyla. As the call ended, the Option Line consultant prayed for her and her baby.
A day or so later, Keyla called Option Line again, this time in even deeper distress. Friends and family had convinced her that abortion was her best option.
Thinking her friends and family knew her best, she started a chemical abortion but was experiencing profound regret. However, because of the caring support she received at the pregnancy center and the information shared about Abortion Pill Rescue Network (APRN), she knew exactly where to turn in her darkest hour.
Once she was connected to our Heartbeat-supported APRN medical team, Keyla was given a second chance to choose life for her baby. APRN’s response made all the difference for Keyla – and her baby.
