“White Dudes for Harris.” Pardon? In case you missed it, it’s a bunch of wealthy white guys who raised a ton of money at an online event for pro-abortion Kamala Harris, including, Mark Ruffalo, Mark Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Jeff Bridges, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, among other entertainment moguls.
Well, it is a free country and, after all, there are several white dudes “up for consideration to be Harris’ running mate [who] also attended the call, including Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Michigan Sen. Gary Peters,” according to Marin Scotten.
Speaking of Buttigieg, at the Monday fundraising event of Dudes for Harris, he actually said the following:
“I’m so glad she has made freedom the theme of her campaign, and I think in so many ways that’s what’s at stake. And, yes, women’s freedom is Exhibit A after Donald Trump demolished the right to choose. But, of course, men are also more free in a country where we have a president who stands up for things like access to abortion care.”
How many times have pro-lifers made that exact point? That abortion “frees” men from responsibility for the children they have helped create? That it “frees” men to subtly or overtly coerce women into having abortions they do not want?
Matt McDonald, writing for the National Catholic Register interviewed several pro-leaders for their take on Buttigieg’s comments.
Carol Tobias, president of the National Right to Life Committee, called Buttigieg’s comments on abortion “creepy and disgusting.”
“Pete Buttigieg is recklessly suggesting that legal abortion makes men ‘more free’ as they can push a woman into having an abortion in order to shun responsibility,” Tobias told the National Catholic Register. “If men are part of creating a new life, they should accept the responsibility that goes along with caring for their child and the child’s mother.”
And there are those lonely men who very much wanted their girlfriend or wife not to abort. They too are victims of the Culture of Death.
