Yesterday, after church, we met up with our two oldest grandchildren, 13 years old and 5 years old, respectively for lunch and some board games. Nothing like in-person visits.
Like so many other grandparents, my wife and I eagerly view the photos sent to us of all five of our grandchildren.
Our middle daughter sends us photos of her youngest son via text every day, so you might think I wouldnāt be amazed how much change thereās been in just the last few months.
But I am!
When I looked at this morningās photos, it reminded me of one of my favorite ways of reminding the culture of the continuity of human life:Ā time-lapse videos, particularly those that ādocumentā a babyās development from the very early stages to deliveryāand beyond. Periodically, I watch and re-watch them.
For example, just this morning,Ā I revisited (again!)Ā a 1:32 videoāāA Photo Every Pregnancy Day for 9 Monthsā.
There have reportedly beenĀ over 67,000Ā views! Hereās why.
We learn elsewhere that the mom decided, once she knew she was pregnant, to take a picture each day of herself as her pregnancyāher babyāadvanced. Itās all very cleverly done.
Viewed from the side, she holds out a giant pink balloon and mimics inhaling the air. As the balloon decrease in size, she increases until the balloon is empty.
At the end, she has her back to the camera. She slowly turns around andāĀ voilĆ āthe mom is holding her baby girl.
The momās expressions? Indescribable. Watch her and when she kisses her new baby, youāll understand exactly why I loveĀ this little video.
