Pro-abortion forces are making it very clear that because of the current lack of protective pro-life laws in Virginia they intend to make the Commonwealth of Virginia the abortion capital of the south. Multiple pro-abortion organizations are operating throughout Virginia to fund abortions and travel for women from other states to come here to get more abortions, every month.
Tragically, VSHL has learned that since July two new abortion facilities have opened and are in business killing babies and harming women. The facility in Petersburg, Virginia, A Whole Women’s Health, opened on July 15th, and Meadow Reproductive Health opened in June. Both places do chemical abortions and surgical abortions. This brings the total number of facilities up to 21 with two more opening soon.
We must realize that this will continue as long as the Virginia General Assembly is controlled by a pro-abortion majority. Their leadership, including Sen. Louise Lucas and Sen. Scott Surovell, have vowed to block any pro-life bill and to force through the most radical abortion bills, including the extreme unlimited abortion amendment to our state constitution.
Meanwhile, there is little doubt that Virginia’s mother-helping programs will face legislative attacks in the near future designed to shut their doors! The state-level elections of 2025 are our best chance to prevent the plans of abortion promoters and supporters.
Virginia Family Foundation’ Founding Freedom’s Law Center went to court to challenge Richmond’s sale of a city building to Planned Parenthood for $10.00 (details here). A hearing was held on the suit last Friday in the Richmond Circuit Court.
Sadly, the Judge in the case rejected the request for a restraining order, which allows Planned Parenthood to proceed with their plans for the sight.
