SIOUX FALLS, SD (October 28, 2024) – Over the last few days, out-of-state liberal Illinois Governor Pritzker poured in over half a million dollars to push his extreme agenda of making abortion legal through all nine months in our South Dakota State Constitution. Meanwhile, Life Defense Fund (LDF) raised the majority of their money in-state by South Dakotans to help defeat the extreme abortion measure – Amendment G.
Under Governor Pritzker’s extreme agenda, mobile abortion clinics would be parked on street corners in every South Dakota town, just like they were at this year’s Democratic National Convention in Governor Pritzker’s home state of Illinois.
Dakotans for Health raised 84.1% from out-of-state sources, whereas Life Defense Fund and No on G for SD cumulatively raised 89.3% from individuals, businesses, and organizations in South Dakota.
The total amount raised from South Dakota sources for both sides in the Amendment G campaign is $1,873,897, where just 7% went to the “YES” on G, and 93% went to the “NO” on G.
“We are outraising them 12 to 1 with in-state funds while Dakotans for Health and their efforts to legalize abortion through all nine months is bought and paid for by out-of-state special interests,” said Caroline Woods, spokesperson for Life Defense Fund.
“South Dakotans are speaking through their donations: they do not want Extreme Amendment G. And to the extreme Illinois Gov. Pritzker, who dumped over half a million dollars to put abortion in our South Dakota Constitution, ‘take Dakotans for Health’s own advice and mind your own business.’ South Dakotans don’t want extreme Chicago, San Francisco, and New York views tainting our great state, which is why we need to continue raising dollars to defeat this extreme amendment.”
