Abortion is a sign that society has failed women

The abortion industry continues to exploit the difficulties faced by women to sell abortions.
A recent story by a Fox TV affiliate underscored that fact for me.
Fox 43 News in south central Pennsylvania ran a report chronicling a woman who had had an abortion: “Pennsylvania’s Choice: Abortion debate shaped by personal experiences” [].
The woman was raising a child with disabilities when she became pregnant again. Her financial situation seemed bleak—she was making $13 an hour—and she ended up having an abortion.
What a tragedy.
What about offering assistance for helping the woman to care for her children? What about seeing if she could secure a better-paying job? Was the topic of adoption ever discussed with her?
Life-affirming solutions exist to the problems that trouble women of childbearing age. But the abortion industry is not about offering these solutions. Instead, they sell one solution—abortion—to women at a most vulnerable point in their lives.
Abortion is a sign that society has failed women. Point to any challenge, and the abortion industry will claim that abortion is the answer.
But the fact of the matter is that abortion does not solve problems. It creates new ones, while taking the life of an innocent, unrepeatable human being.
